Louisiana violent crimes: Man arrested for murder

A Louisiana man was recently arrested for the death of his girlfriend. According to reports, the accused -- a 30-year-old male -- was taken into police custody on Saturday, March 17, after they were called to check on the couple at their home. Violent crimes of this nature are not going to be treated lightly in criminal court. As such, the accused would most likely benefit from having an experienced criminal defense attorney at his side.

Police responded to the couple's home at approximately 4:50 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman deceased on the floor of the kitchen. Investigators claim to have found blood in the kitchen and other areas of the home, indicating a violent struggle occurred.

The victim's boyfriend, the accused, was not home when police arrived, as he had allegedly taken the victim's 2-year-old daughter to visit his mother. He returned while police were at his home and was questioned by investigators. When they noticed lacerations on his arms, they took him into police custody. Authorities are still in the process of investigating this case. The accused has been charged with second-degree murder and remains in police custody.

The accusations in this case are nothing to balk at, as the consequences of conviction could drastically alter the course of the accused's life. Such is true in most violent crimes cases. If convicted, this individual is looking at years, if not the rest of his life, behind bars. While the accused may feel he is in a hopeless position, with the assistance of legal counsel, a criminal defense can be presented in a Louisiana criminal court that will help him achieve the best possible outcome.
