Several arrested on charges of drug possession

According to a recent report, several arrests were made in the state after a tip came into the narcotics unit. The tip claimed that a lot of drugs were being taken into a Louisiana residence, and the narcotics unit was dispatched. Those arrested were charged with drug possession and other crimes.

According to the tipster, people inside of the residence were busy preparing the drugs to be distributed. They were storing the drugs there and selling them from the same location. A surveillance team was set up and allegedly saw the described activities going on. The men involved in the suspected drug ring were reportedly seen going and coming from two separate locations.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on one of the cars that was seen leaving the residence, and they claimed to have found marijuana and an illegal firearm in the vehicle. Both men in that car were arrested, and a search warrant was obtained for the residence. According to the report, pain pills, marijuana, crack cocaine and more firearms were found during the execution of that warrant. Seven more people were arrested at the location.

Both of the residences belonged to the same man. All of those arrested are believed to be members of a motorcycle gang. Nine bikes were seized as a part of the investigation.

Charges of drug possession can be serious in the state of Louisiana. Those who have been arrested on drug charges may choose to consult with a criminal law attorney. This type of lawyer can advise the accused in the best defense strategy for his or her case.
